Topographic Surveys
land surveys

These terms generally describe a site map showing the topographic features of a site. Topographic features include hard features such as buildings, kerbs, foliage and street furniture, and soft features including spot levels, overhead lines and changes in surface.
Topographic surveys are carried out using electronic total stations to capture 3D observation data on site. This data is then processed in surveying software to produce a Digital Terrain Model. The DTM allows contours, volumes and sections to be produced to the Client's specification. The survey output can be provided in various forms but in the majority of cases the final information is provided in AutoCad format for design purposes.
RGI use Leica relectorless and robotic total stations to capture data on site. This enables fast work, and where required provides non-intrusive surveying.
LSS software is used to process observations and produce Digital Terrain Models. DTM's then allow contouring, areas and volumes and 3D imagery to be performed. Final survey information is exported in Autocad, DXF, and Moss Genio format.
Our digital surveys are structured and layered for maximum flexibility.
Topographic, services and combined surveys are routinely produced at such sites as: reservoirs, water treatment works, highways, industrial and retail sites, as well as private dwellings.
