University Topographic and Underground Services Case Study
A regular Client, a large West Midlands based Civil Engineering Company, required a survey of underground services for two separate areas within Birmingham University ready for new build and building extension work.
No topographic surveys were available of the areas and the information was required within one week. We were also unaware of the exact requirements of the Client until initial meeting and site induction on day of surveying.
By utilizing an experienced survey team and latest technology, including the new 1200 series Leica one man total station, we were able to provide a full topographic survey of the area along with a comprehensive underground services survey in one day on site. This was particularly important as excavations were being carried later that day. The services survey included electromagnetic tracing with RD400 and RD4000 equipment and a scan using Mala Geoscience Ground Probing Radar, plus a full drainage survey.
The information was provided on time and in DWG and PDF format with plots enabling designers, contractors and engineers to utilize our findings, plus highlighting underground services for site personnel. |
