utility surveys
"subtronic" surveys
electromagnetic surveys
"cat" scans |
These terms describe the surveying of underground services. Subsurface utility surveying provides the location of existing underground utilities, allowing engineers at the development phase to consider existing utility relocation cost, precise utility new service connection areas, and plan ahead to eliminate conflicts between new proposals and existing utilities, as in general avoid underground service hazards.
RGI Surveys have been carrying out underground services surveys since inauguration in 1989. Our teams have a combined experience of over 45 years in the location and mapping of underground services.
Radiodetection electromagnetic surveying equipment is used by experienced surveyors to locate underground services through direct or indirect means.
Drainage or open pipework can be located by inserting transmitting sondes, accurately positioning the pipelines on at ground level.
Services surveys can be anything from a single cable, pipe or drain route to a full site survey.
Located service runs are marked up on site, temporarily, or with traffic paint and pegs if required.
The network of surveyed services is then captured using total stations and added to the digital base plan. A plan is produced with services structured in easily identifiable layering in Autocad.
Site scans are carried out prior to investigative work, to enable safe drilling. Subsurface utility surveying provides the location of existing underground utilities and structures to the project designer; thereby, allowing the designer at the project development phase to consider existing utility relocation cost, precise utility new service connection areas, and plan ahead to eliminate conflicts between new improvements and existing utilities.
This surveying service eliminates design revisions during construction, increases both construction safety and the contractor's confidence in plans, thus helping to reduce construction costs and time.
Staff are experienced in topographic and full utility surveys, and confined spaces trained for safe working.
