Topographic Surveys

These terms generally describe a site map showing the topographic features of a site. Topographic features include hard features such as buildings, kerbs, foliage and street furniture, and soft features including spot levels, overhead lines and changes in surface.

Topographic surveys are carried out using electronic total stations to capture 3D observation data on site. This data is then processed in surveying software to produce a Digital Terrain Model. The DTM allows contours, volumes and sections to be produced to the Client's specification. The survey output can be provided in various forms but in the majority of cases the final information is provided in various forms such as AutoCad format for design purposes.

Utility Surveys

Subsurface utility surveying provides the location of existing underground utilities, allowing engineers at the development phase to consider existing utility relocation cost, precise utility new service connection areas, and plan ahead to eliminate conflicts between new proposals and existing utilities, as in general avoid underground service hazards.

RGI Surveys have been carrying out underground services surveys since inauguration in 1989. Our teams have a combined experience of over 45 years in the location and mapping of underground services.

Measured Building Surveys

Measured building surveys based around the surveyed building footprint provide accurate positions of internal building details, including walls, structures, windows, doors and fittings. Door and window sill and head heights, ceiling heights and floor areas are included to Client's specification.

Using Leica reflectorless total stations we can provide cost effective building elevations, enabling field data catchment of inaccessible building points.
